Postlink works by syncing your Pro Tools timeline to the cloud. To begin the syncing process you only have to instantiate the plugin. So:
That’s it. Anytime you save your session (CMD-S), your timeline is updated.
When Timeline Sync is in progress you'll see it in the plugin window:
Or when Timeline Sync is complete:
For best results just throw the plugin on when you start working, then forget about it. Only one plugin per session needed!
The same plugin also receives high quality audio from your talent, which you can route to wherever in your session.
For example:
Set the input of your record track to the left sub path of the Postlink Aux’s output bus (the one you set above).
Only one talent is currently supported, but more will be added soon!
Open the engineer link in Desktop Google Chrome (> 110). You’ll see some familiar conference device menus (camera, mic, speaker), as well as a menu for the playback stream:
During a session you will likely want to listen to your Pro Tools output rather than the stream output from your browser, so use this menu to select an alternate output device, or to mute the stream altogether.
You’ll notice too that once you’ve opened your link in the browser and you are ready to stream, the Browser Link indicator in the plugin will now be green:
If you see a message that says No Active Session, you’ll need to purchase a three hour Single Session or a Monthly Unlimited. With a Single Session, the three hours start when you enter the conference, once you click Join. With an Unlimited, the month begins on the date of purchase. Regardless of which option you choose, there are never any limits to how many different projects you can work on, how many different talents you can record, or how many people can join your conference. So have at it!
